Model One ~ Two

Model One~Two features a fourth generation Uni-Q twin driver array cosisting of KEF's incredibly smooth, natural sounding one inch ferrofluid-cooled soft dome tweeter at the center of a six and one half inch polypropylene cone mid-range driver.

Low-frequency extension is even more generous than you would expect, because the bass driver is mounted inside the cabinet in its own dedicated chamber, firing into the room via a large port in the mineral filled baffle - subtly contoured, like the cabinet edges themselves, to reduce diffraction effects.

Model Two ~ Two

Standing slightly taller than Model One~Two to accomodate an additional bass driver, Model Two~Two features an identical fourth generation Uni-Q twin driver array cosisting of KEF's incredibly smooth, natural sounding one inch ferrofluid-cooled soft dome tweeter at the center of a six and one half inch polypropylene cone mid-range driver.

KEF's unique coupled cavity bass concept once again lifts bass performance to another plane. Mounted in their own enclosure the two bass drivers are joined back to back by a massive force canceling rod. Another KEF design 'first' - to neutralize any unwanted vibrations.

Model Three ~ Two

Even larger bass drivers and the addition of a dedicated lower mid-range cone are what seperates Model Three~Two from its smaller brethern. The same awesomely competent fourth generation Uni-Q twin driver array is partnered by a six and one half inch lower midrange unit and two eight and one half inch bass units, yoked together by a force cancelling rod in their own enclosure for massively extended bass response.

Model Four ~ Two

Model Four~Two exemplifies the qualities that have made the Reference Series a legend amongst audiophiles the world over.

Hardly surprising when you consider the engineering involved. A full four way, six driver design, Model Four~Two combines the tonal accuracy of the fourth generation Uni-Q twin driver array cosisting of KEF's incredibly smooth, natural sounding one inch ferrofluid-cooled soft dome tweeter at the center of a six and one half inch polypropylene cone mid-range driver with two six and one half inch lower midrange drivers.

Superlative bass extension is assured by two ten inch bass drivers in dual coupled cavity configuration, firing back to back in their own dedicated chamber.

More about KEF

'Reference' is a term used (and abused) by speaker companies, but truly owned only by one: KEF. When the Labs at KEF develop a new speaker they build a prototype as near to perfect as can be made. 'The Reference' to which every production loudspeaker must exactly conform.

As you might expect of KEF, this standard is constantly being refined in the light of our continuing research. The Series~Two is the result: a family of speakers with a host of improvments to set a new benchmark for the modern audiophile.

Each pair of KEF Reference speakers is hand assembled by a single highly skilled craftsmen whose personal responsibility it is to make sure that every aspect of their work matches 'The Reference' to a tolerance of just 0.5 decibels. It's a skill that takes time and infinite patience. Once you hear the results, we're sure you'll agree that it's time well spent.

The acoustic benefits are undeniable. Conventional Loudspeakers deliver true high-fidelity performance only in one small area of the room, the 'sweet-spot'. If you want great sound for more than one person in more than one place, you'll be gratified to hear that KEF Uni-Q effectively turns the entire room into a 'sweet spot'.
